The survey consists of 65 questions, grouped by the engagement ‘indicator’ to which they relate. The indicators are presented in Fig. 1.1 below. Most questions relate to a specific engagement indicator. There are also questions that do not directly relate to a specific indicator, but that are included in the survey because of their contribution to a broad understanding of student engagement. Each indicator score is calculated from responses to the multiple questions that relate to that indicator. These results are summarised in Chapter 2 and responses to all questions are available in Appendix 3.

This report presents results from the 2023 StudentSurvey.ie fieldwork. This year was the second year of the revised questionnaire following the 2021 periodic review.
