A higher proportion of Full-Time students agree that they have a suitable working space (78.6% Full-Time; 64.4% Part-Time/Remote).
While the main source of funding for Full-Time students is ‘scholarship’ (68.1%), the main source of funding for Part-Time/Remote students is ‘self-funded’ (52.3%).
A significant difference between Full-Time and Part-Time/Remote students is observed across all four questions within Progress and Assessment with Part-Time/Remote students reporting a more positive experience.
72.6% of Full-Time students report that they understand the required standard for their thesis, compared to 79.0% of Part-Time/Remote students.
Significant differences in Development Opportunities are evident.
Full-Time students are more likely to indicate that they have availed of various opportunities, including ‘attending an academic research conference’ (77.7% Full-Time; 66.6% Part-Time/Remote), ‘receiving training in entrepreneurship and innovation’ (19.4% Full-Time; 6.5% Part-Time/Remote) and ‘spending time abroad’ as part of their research degree (26.4% Full-Time; 12.0% Part-Time/Remote).
Furthermore, a higher proportion of Full-Time students indicate that they have taught or demonstrated at their institution during their research degree programme (69.4% Full-Time; 39.9% Part-Time/Remote).
A higher proportion of Part-Time/Remote students note that they are satisfied with their life nowadays (63.3% Full-Time; 77.7% Part-Time/Remote) and that they are satisfied with their life within their institution nowadays (61.1% Full-Time; 70.8% Part-Time/Remote).
A higher proportion of Full-Time students say there is someone in their institution they can talk to about their day-to-day problems (54.5% Full-Time; 44.1% Part-Time/Remote).
Overall, 78.8% of Full-Time students agree they feel that their research degree programme is worthwhile compared to 85.1% of Part-Time/Remote students.
